Busby A welcomed Dumbarton to Overlee this weekend with one aim, to take all three points. Only the win would allow them to keep pushing for the top spot in the league. Dumbarton were of the back of a draw against Clyde and were no doubt looking to take something from the game. At kick off the game was finely balanced, but for once Busby started well. Dumbarton gave away a penalty that Gianni De Marco coolly converted. Pressure from Dan Burns then forced the Dumbarton keeper to leave his box and it was Ross Docherty that was there to collect the ball and put it in the back of the net.
At the restart it was clear Busby were having a great game all over the park. The defence dealt well with any threat, the midfield worked hard and the forwards looked for more goals and found them. Daniel's hard worked got him onto the score sheet and helped his team add to their total with some great play. Busby A's new keeper Nathan McCrohon had an excellent debut and would be gutted that Busby were not able to maintain a clean sheet. A Dumbarton forward was brought down in the box and the resulting penalty was converted well. The momentum then switched to Dumbarton who pressed hard and found a second goal quickly. Busby then had to work hard to play the game out of their own half as the last few minutes were played and the game came to a close.
