A good result against a team with a similar league record as ourselves. We started very brightly and Tony Guatella missed a one to one straight from the kick off but the keeper saved well. He also had a further chance a couple of minutes later but this was blocked. mid way through the half Vale of Clyde took the lead and this seemed to rattle us a bit with passes going astray and not taking the correct options. However, we equalised before half time through Jack Rogers who was pushing forward from midfield at every opportunity with Robbie faloconer doing the sitting midfield role.
Early in the second half Blair Johnson, Rudy Kingwaya and Alistair Brown came on and this gave us extra power up front. Rudy's running made the opening for Kyle Maxwell who finished low at the post. However slack marking from a corner a few minutes later let their central defender equalise. We continued to push foprward and Jack Rogers scored a great goal direct from a free kick at the edge of the box. He then scored his hat trick when seeing the keeper off his line he curled a shot round him from around 25 yards. The game looked safe but Vale of Clyde scored to make it 4-3 with 5 minutes to go and they were pushing forward for the equaliser. Fortunately this never came and we won 4-3.
