A second league win against Vale of Clyde in 2 weeks - this time morecomprehensive than last week's 4-3 win.
Played on astrograss at Toryglen we started very sluggishly and playerswere making the wrong choices with passes. Alistair Gardner slipped at the half way line and the Vale striker ran half the length of the pitch to score in the first couple of minutes. It got worse shortly after when Craig Blair was pushed in the back and his arm then struck the ball. The referee rather than give us a foul gave Vale a penalty and we were 2-0 down inside 10 minutes.
However we gradually started playing better and when Jack Rogers was clearly tripped in the box Shaun Alexander sent the goalie the wrong way for 1-2. Vale got another soft award when the referee again missed a couple of clear pushes on Alistair Gardner and let play continue and gave a foul when he was tripped in the box. However Alex Dempster made a great save and they sent the rebound wide of the post. Blair Johnson cut inside and from the edge of the box had a great shot which was pushed out by the goalie and Rudy Kingwaya shot home for the equaliser. After the horrendous start it felt at half time being 2-2 we had got out of jail and a better 2nd half would win us the game.
We took the lead early in the second half when after a good passing move Kyle Maxwell slipped David Hayton through who had agreat shot low into the far corner. Rudy Kingwaya then scored his second when he outpaced the defence for 4-2. The best goal of the game came when we broke 3 v 2 and Rudy outpaced the defence again from the half way line and got wide of the penalty box and crossed for Shaun Alexander to send a header into the top corner. In the end we ran out comfortable 5-2 winners.
