The new season kicked off with a few new faces in the Under 15's. Busby had the advantage of the wind in the first half but failed to capitalize on it with a few near misses on the Barrhead goal but the forwards just could not find the net. The second half was a contrast with Barrhead taking full advantage of the wind to go on the attack and they got their reward with a goal 15 minutes into the second half. Unfortunately the Busby heads went down and Barrhead made it 2 with 20 minutes of the game left, somehow this seemed to wake the Busby lads up and they pressed forward.
A great first game of the season, away to a very strong Arsenal team whowon't be far away at the end of the season. There were debuts for 4 playerssigned from Giffnock in the summer - Alex Dempster in goal, David Hayton,Alistair Brown and sub Blair Johnson- and also David Cairns who allcontributed with good performances.Arsenal started on top, with the wind behind them, but it was Busby whotook a 2 goal lead with David Cairns and Rudy Kingwaya scoring. David thencame off, feeling the effects of a cold to be replaced by Dean McKirdy.
In a one sided match that saw Busby score 10 goals, the only thing worth noting was the fight for top Busby scorer this season for the record Lewis Jamison 4, Liam Kinney 2, Callum Young 1 and just for the record Craigy (McFarlane) got a hat trick. The man of the match was Lewis Jamison for a hat trick in the first 10 minutes and another one for good measure. The last game of the season is Monday 1st June lets hope for a good end to the season.
Another wet morning at Kingston Park but made the playing surface good for attacking football and like the last few games Busby scored right from the start a great run from Michael Henry who used his pace to go through the Barrhead defence to make it 1-0. From then on it was wave after wave of Busby attack and this was Busbys best display of the season by far.
This match kicked off in bright sunshine at Cowan Park and like the last game the boys played in it was Busby on the attack early on and they got the reward after 10 minutes when a corner floated in caused havoc in the Giffnock defence. Lewis Jamison took advantage and scored with a fine header. The game was all Busby with Callum Young causing all sorts of problems with his jinky type runs and he was rewarded with a great individual goal when he took on three Giffnock defenders to tuck away a fine goal.
This game between local rivals was always going to be a close affair but after 3 minutes of play it look like a rout for Busby. From the kick of Lewis Jamison took on 3 players passed the ball to Liam Kinney who flicked the ball to Callum Young to make it 1-0 Busby. Again Busby picked up a free kick almost from the Stamperland kick off, Liam Kinney hit the free kick and Lewis Jamison converted from the keepers rebound.
A one sided game that Busby won 11-1, goals from Andy Cunningham 3, Craigy 2,Michael 2, Angus1, Chris 1, Mark1, Colin. Man of the match - Andy Cunningham.
